Isabella Karina Coelho moved to Chicago from Pittsburgh, PA in 2009 to begin her education at The Theatre School at DePaul University. After completing her BFA in Theatre Arts, she began her journey as an performer and educator proudly bringing her talents to arts organization all over the Chicago including special appearances the the annual Broadway in Chicago Concert in Millennium Park and the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Isabella has worked a theatre teaching artist since 2012 all over Chicago creating original programming and directing student performed work with organizations including Creative Root at DePaul University, Raven Theatre, Windy City Performs, Emerald City Theatre, Act Two at St. Paul’s and more. She has served as a resident teaching artist at Free Street Theater since 2013 where she helms the Park Kids program as well as created capsule programming with the Chicago Park District and The Boys and Girls Club of West Pullman. Isabella currently serves as the Head of Education and Curriculum Development at Chicago Music and Acting Academy.
She feels such gratitude to share her passion for music, puppetry, and creative thinking with her community.
